Test the Text

I recently got a suspicious text, and the first step was simple—did I recognize it? Nope. That was my first red flag. The golden rule is never click the link. Instead, I went straight to the source. I logged into PayPal and my other accounts directly—no activity, no issues.

The verdict? Classic phishing attempt. The scammer wanted me to panic, click the link, and hand over sensitive information to “verify” a fake transaction. Thankfully, by pausing and double-checking, I avoided the trap.
